This type of car wash requires a driver to go into a bay housed in a small building with the exterior roll equipment housed inside. Once the car is in the proper position, there is usually a light that will flash and instruct the driver to put the car in park. The car wash will being to operate and run through a different types of washing, rinsing and drying cycles previously selected before entering the bay.
The car is washed by a mechanically moving brush that goes back and forth on the sides of the car and over the top of the car and hood. These types of washes are more time efficient for the user and they can select different options of washes, including a simple wash with three or four brush passes to a more complete package with pre-wash, soap, rinse, undercarriage, wheel cleaner, polish and wax, and drying cycles. However, people usually still have the need to complete the job by hand drying the car and doing other work such as the inside vacuuming.
